we are here to bring you the rules and regulations for the KAMCAO Illustration Contest 2007. We see a lot of familiar usernames, we are glad to have you guys again this year and hopefully we'll have more people this year as well.

KAMCAO Team has been working really hard in organizing a better contest this year, so all thanks goes to them.

the contest form will be available on the 8th of April, please do await for it. We will announce more updates on it. The contest is also open to people outside DeviantArt, so please do spread around. ^^

And we missed out the prizes! well, certainly everyone was excited without the prizes, but we're still giving them out of course~ XDDD We are giving out Original Japanese Artbooks this year! and 3 of them~! Owo well, the winner would get the more expensive one of course, so be sure to aim to be teh winner!! QwQ i kinda wanna be the winner too, but that wont be a contest anymore if i take the prize! so do your best~!

KAMCAO Illustration Contest 2007

[About KAMCAO Illust Contest]

The KAMCAO Illust Contest is a contest opened to everyone globally to showcase their talents. It is organized to be held online annually by the KAMCAO Team. Every year, artworks by contestants in KAMCAO Illust Contest will be featured in KAMCAO Art Book that is published annually as well.

The first contest was held in 2006 in the span of 4 months. Because it was the first contest KAMCAO has ever organized, their target was to have at least 20 entries. We received an overwhelming response, with 103 contestants participating and 139 entries since the contestants were allowed a maximum of two entries each.

“The objective of this contest is to discover new talents and to get more and more people involve with KAMCAO. We would like to acknowledge and recognize the different talents and skills displayed in the various artwork received.”

[Rules & Regulations]

- The contest is opened to all ages.
- Each person is limited to only two entries.
- Entries entered between 1st of April and 1st of October (12 pm) is eligible. Entries entered after 1st of October 2007, 12 pm [+ TIME ZONE] will be rejected.


Artwork
- Any art medium is accepted.
- All entries must be submitted in JPEG format.
- Black and White illustrations will be accepted only if they are neat, and clean.
- No huge watermarks that spread across the art (a small or average one is accepted as long it does not affect the art).
- Illustrations with ecchi, hentai, yaoi, yuri, shounen ai, shoujo ai, and political issues will be disqualified.
- Incomplete works will be disqualified. (rough, scraps, drafts or notebook and notepads text line doodles)
- Every entry has to be minimum A4 (2480 x 3508 pixels) with the resolution of 300dpi.
- There are no specific themes for the contest, but if you need to go by a theme, KAMCAO’s Theme of the Year 2007 is FRUiTs.
- Fanarts is allowed, but please do state who the copyrights belong to, in your form.
- Please note that your entry is also your consent for KAMCAO to print your artwork for contest purposes.

Sending in Your Entry
- Every entry must be sent to illustcon@kamcao.com
- Attach your entry together with your form on your email and be sure to name the subject: KAMCAO Illust Contest. You will receive a confirmation letter stating your entry number.

Filling in Your Details
- Please fill in the pen name or any name you would want to be used featured with your entry under "pseudonym". Do fill in your full name (real name) for mailing purposes.
- Do note to fill in your FULL house address.
- Your details will be strictly used for contacting purposes only for this contest. We assure you that your details will not be publicized or used for anything other than KAMCAO related issues.
- You will have to include a comment on each entry you send in. They must be comments that is of your entry only, not more than 100 words.

[Judges]

The contest will be judged by the Board Members, Editors, Artists, Writers from the KAMCAO Team.

[FAQs]

Do you accept styles other than just anime and manga?
It can be any style as long as it falls under the category of art. This contest is a stage for people to be recognized and known for their talent, so it is not limited to just entries of anime and manga style.

I have sent in two entries already, can I change one of them?
I’m sorry, but once you’ve submitted two entries, you can no longer switch or change one of them to another illustration.

Can I submit a piece that I have already drawn?
Yes, as long as you’re the one who worked on it, we will accept it.
